Riverfest

A picture out of order but I am too lazy to fix it.

This weekend was Riverfest! Kind of like Art City Days only a bit smaller. Everything was a lot of fun, and there wasn't much we had to pay for. However this breakfast did set us back three dollars. The boy scouts were having a pancake fundraiser. They were really pretty cute too. Some of the boys would stand behind us waiting for us to take our last bite and then rush in and ask if there was anything they could get us. Kaitlynn ate four pancakes! Olivia tried to eat Ryans. After the breakfast we let the kids play in the sand box. I had sand in my flip flops for a couple of hours after that. Then on to the kids race. Kaitlynn was sooo excited! Jack thought he wanted to run too. In the end I carried him across the finish line. After the race we watched the town parade. Stupid rain ruined the rest of the day so we took the kids to McDonalds for dinner to make up for not attending the wet carnival. That seemed to make up for it. Until Jack peed his pants! First public accident, at least he didn't do it up in one of the tunnels! Overall a very fun weekend.

Yummy pancakes

They tried so hard to pick up the dirt.

Riding the horse.

Really you have to have arms as long as Ryans to effectively play with this toy. Its just there to make kids frustrated and get lazy parents off the bench to help/play with their kids. I hate those kinds of toys.

The starting line. Jack didn't want me to take his picture.

Kaitlynn stretching for the race.

I can't believe I got a picture of her not tipping over. This is a really hard stretch for the uncoordinated.

She is psyched and ready to run.

This is how Jack chose to get ready for the race. Sit and wait.

And we are off! Thats me in the yellow shirt holding Jacks hand. I don't think racing is his thing
But it is certainly hers. We stole this off of the Riverside website.

Finished!
We eventually finished too.
Kaitlynn made sure he got his medal too.

She was so proud of her medal. It was the coolest!
It was a pretty cool race, most of it went along side the river.

She just sat and watched with little interest.

Getting ready for the parade.

Checking out a bug.

I hope her picture turned out better than mine.

Because this is what they looked like when I tried.

From this angle her legs are ridiculously huge. Oh well they are anyway.

Such a pretty smile.

I love these flip flops from my Aunt Nancy, and they even stay on!

Exciting parade.

They actually ended the parade with fire trucks. Weird. Just didn't seem right to me. Isn't that how you are supposed to start out the parade?

It was only ten but the humidity made it feel much hotter and later in the day. Good thing one of the candidates gave out cold otter pops. He's got my vote. Now if only I could remember his name...

Even Elmo came to the parade!

And here are some more pictures we took from the website.

Concert in the park

I meant to post this a while a ago but time has gotten away from me. A couple of weeks ago Ryan had a rare evening off. To celebrate we went to Zona Rosa an out door mall and watched a free concert. In the middle of the grassy area there is a splash pad for the kids to play in. It was a nice evening together.

Typical Ryan picture. He is never far from that phone.

Jack insisted on wearing my sun glasses.

He got frustrated because they were too big for him and kept falling off.

Perfect.

We forgot towels. They would lay on the ground to warm up.

Jack just being a pest. Kaitlynn got really tired of him running up and poking her.

Olivia at the wonderful grabby age.

The tongue helps her reach farther.

New Hair

I am only twenty seven, but I guess that is old enough to be going gray. (Sigh). So today my friend Tara helped me hide it. It was a really fun afternoon. I almost felt like I was in high school again. I didn't change it too much. I only went about a shade darker with some red highlights. Even though I colored my hair, I doubt it will keep me doing it for very long before I am back to pony tails again.

Before

I did my color the same as hers.

Kaitlynn was our photographer.

She snapped a few of herself too.

This is my sad attempt to take a picture of my hair color. Can't really tell the color but you can see that Olivia likes it.

It late so there is no natural light for me to take a decent picture of my hair, but this comes pretty close to what it really does look like. Not much different than before, just no gray.

I heard the kids playing in their room being all cute and stuff so I grabbed the camera to capture the perfect moment. Of course as soon as I did the moment was gone. But what I love most about this is Kaitlynn. She starts out talking to me, but then sees her image in the mirror and just talking and looking at herself. The narcissistic child.

Real men don't cry

I was looking through some of my pictures and came across this video. Thought it was funny and wanted to share it with you.

The Red Barn Farm

Ok this picture is not of us at the farm, but it is cute.

Having a picnic at the farm with our friends the Zeyers. We like them because we are almost the same. Her name is Becky, and they have a baby Olivia too, plus Breck plays Heroscape and just may have more silly plastic guys than Ryan and his brothers.

I took this picture of Ryan while he was making fun of how many pictures I take.

Awe, pretty girl.

It's not a picnic without watermelon.

Jack didn't want anything on his bagel sandwich.

Kaitlynn and Clara balancing. I don't think they made it more than a few steps.

Jack did want to eat all of his Cheetos.

Both of the Olivias

This horseshoe was their ticket to ride the pony.

Olivia didn't like the Hen Den

because of this Turkey. He was loud and not even a hen.

Kaitlynn standing on a stump.

Ryan and Jack standing on the stump pulling silly faces.

Kaitlynn riding the pony.

She looks like a rodeo princess.

Jack taking his turn on the pony. He preferred holding my hand rather than waving.

Feeding the goat.

We took his picture on this tractor before we saw the sign telling you not to. Oops.

We are a happy family.

perfect moments

Sometimes I feel a little crazy, its a good thing I like to take pictures. I don't feel quite so crazy when I see my family.

Notice the pink boots.
