Picture overload!

So the blogging thing just hasn't been my thing lately.  Here is a review of the last couple of months.  Ryan spent the month of May in Oklahoma.  Yep he just left his pregnant wife and three small children all alone for a whole month!  It was his first away rotation of his senior year.  We have three more that will take him away for extended periods of time before he graduates.  Not my most favorite month but is was doable.  He is back now and I really like having him home.   So do the kids.  I like to think he is happy to be home too!

June was somewhat uneventful.  Summer started and we have been enjoying the heat! Now that I am eight months pregnant nothing makes me happier than when Olivia insist on playing outside!  I instantly puff up like the Marshmallow Man on Ghost Busters.  I have even worn flip flops to church twice now because of the puffiness.   We do spend a lot more time in the pool than we have in past years.  The kids have been taking swim lessons and are loving it.

So far for July life has been pretty good too.  The 4th of July was filled with parade's, BBQ's and Fireworks.

In May Jack graduated from preschool.  It was celebrated with cupcakes and fruit rollups.

Just because I love this boy.

Before the heat wave we did this quite a bit.  Nothing is better than watching a movie outside with the fireflies.

The weekend our temple was dedicated the youth for the surrounding temple district put on a Cultural Celebration for President Monson.  Last minute there were a few extra tickets available and our family was able to go. As you can see they were awesome seats, all the way in the back! That would be the wall behind us.  Can't get any higher than that!  Kaitlynn loved all the dancing, Jack put up with it, and Olivia played on the stairs most of the time or kicked the back of the chairs of the people sitting in front of us.

While Ryan was away I didn't feel like cooking much.  Good thing the kids love pizza!

Just because I love this girl.

Ryan's brother Jordan who is almost done with his mission, sent us this book.  So GREAT!

See if you can tell what scripture story this is.

Close by there is a little train ride for kids.  Only fifty cents a ride!  Look how happy they are.

Even with Ryan out of town the kids still remembered it was Mother's Day.  I was served breakfast in bed with a tall glass of Kool-aid.  Yum.  I really am a lucky mom.

Kaitlynn turned six!  Yikes!  She is so old.  For her "family party" she wanted to go to Build a Bear, eat at Subway, (I am pretty sure she picked there just because she knows I like it.  Sweet girl.) pop popcorn and read stories.  She really is something special.  Again I really am a lucky mom!

I find Kaitlynn like this most mornings.  She likes to find cozy spots to sit and read her books.

This little girl has been finding cozy spots herself.  Mostly in all of the baby stuff I have been rummaging through in storage.

The last weekend in May we were able to go to Oklahoma and visit Ryan in his one bedroom apartment.  He was ready with presents for the kids.  They spent a lot of time building this.

We had a lot of treats with him too.

Swim lessons started in June.

For Fathers Day we had dinner with some neighbors and then went for a walk.  The kids had fun exploring under the bridge with the big kids (the fathers) had fun trying to skip rocks.

Ryan has been reading Harry Potter to Kaitlynn and Jack.  Mostly just Kaitlynn though, Jack can't stay awake most nights.  Kaitlynn on the other hand would stay up all night reading if she could.  There have been a couple of nights where she has come out of bed and hour later saying she just has to know what happens in the next chapter!  Ryan is always a sucker for her begging.

So this was day one and only of potty training.  I really do think I could have had her potty trained before I have this kid.  But then I started to remembered that I really hate to potty train.

I will attempt when the baby is a few months old and this one can pull her pants up and down all by herself!  She does look dang cute in panties though.

For Fathers Day I took pictures of the kids for Ryan.  Here are some of the cute bloopers.

To get them in a good mood and happy for the camera I had them sing some songs. Popcorn popping, wise man and the foolish man and ABC's got me this fun expressions.

This was the last picture I took.  You can really tell they were done with the whole thing.  Those smiles were way not natural by the end.  Except maybe Olivia's.  She knew a treat was coming her way.

We had a trip to the dentist.

This is Kaitlynn getting her teeth checked and Jack is in the back ground.  Both dentist are our neighbors.  Most neighbors these days seem to be dental students.

Olivia liked playing in the chair but didn't care for the actual check up.  I don't know why it was such a big deal to have her teeth counted she is missing half of them anyway.

Nanny sent us sparklers.  We lit them for FHE last week.  Shortly after this picture she burned her fingers on the tip.  I am actually amazed that it took this long for any of our kids to have a sparkler burn.  I must have been a more attentive parent before we had three kids.

She didn't want to hold ice on it so we just gave her a popsicle and all was well.

Family picture at the parade.  This is the best we could get.

We set off fireworks in the evening and all the kids loved it!  Jack just didn't care for the noise.  He spent a lot of time covering his ears.  Ryan had a brilliant idea though and we will be doing this in the future for sure.  Ryan just grabbed some ear plugs for Jack and then he was happy as a clam the rest of the night.

So I got this idea off of pinterest and it totally works!   It is just a big plastic tarp that I duct taped the edges  and filled with water.  So fun and surprisingly cool.  Shortly after this picture all the neighbor kids had to give it a try and it held up.  Jack wanted to sleep outside on the water bed but neither Ryan nor I were willing.  I bet it would have been fun though.

This is why our baby girl loves her daddy so much.
