Pumpkin Patch

I know it seems a little early to be going to a pumpkin patch but everyone else was going so we followed the crowd. We had plenty of fun with the petting farm, playground, rubber duck races, and of course picking out our pumpkins. Well actually everything was fun but picking out our pumpkins. They take you on a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch aka giant weed field. The weeds were big and poky. Not fun and I made the mistake of wearing a skirt that day. I had very scratched up legs. Other than that, it was a huge success plus it was free! We will be making a return trip closer to Halloween.

Wesley, Clara and Kaitlynn.

Cute baby goat.

This was a cute baby cow until my camera gave him scary glowing eye.

The way out of the barn (for little kids) is down a slide.

Giant tricycle race way. Jack couldn't get enough of it, even though he was way too small. Kaitlynn was a speed demon on these things so much so I couldn't get a decent picture of her.

Cheering the racers on!

Wagon ride out to the poky pumpkin patch. Clara and Kaitlynn.

It was a breezy day. Clara, Kaitlynn, Jack and either Danny, Darin, or Dallin I can't remember which name goes with which boy.

Finding just the right one.

This moldy green one was what he wanted most. Can't reason with a two year old.

Off to find hers

This was a better choice than her brothers.

Watch out mom is taking a picture.

Cheese!

The rule was, if you can carry it you can get it. I should have clarified if you can carry it the whole time!

Ride 'em Cow Girl.

Her lasso got in a bit of a tangle.

Who needs friends.

Thankfully she hasn't found her prince charming yet.

Rubber duck races. Clara, Hayden, Nate (he is going to be fixing my tooth this friday), Kaitlynn and Wesley.

Swing and spinning.

It was kind of a breezy sort of day well actually it was very windy, but the temperature was perfect. I love Olivia's reaction to the wind.

Happy Birthday Nanny!

We tried to get the kids to hold up signs for a cute picture. Didn't really happen. Turns out it is difficult to get three kids to look at you, smile, and hold up a sign, all at the same time. So I am posting a few pictures, add them all together and you get the perfect picture. Well maybe not even then. Love you Nanny hope you have a wonderfully happy birthday!

Ps. It is also my brother Paul's birthday so happy birthday to you too. Though I don't really think he looks at this blog so he doesn't get a picture.

Riverfest

A picture out of order but I am too lazy to fix it.

This weekend was Riverfest! Kind of like Art City Days only a bit smaller. Everything was a lot of fun, and there wasn't much we had to pay for. However this breakfast did set us back three dollars. The boy scouts were having a pancake fundraiser. They were really pretty cute too. Some of the boys would stand behind us waiting for us to take our last bite and then rush in and ask if there was anything they could get us. Kaitlynn ate four pancakes! Olivia tried to eat Ryans. After the breakfast we let the kids play in the sand box. I had sand in my flip flops for a couple of hours after that. Then on to the kids race. Kaitlynn was sooo excited! Jack thought he wanted to run too. In the end I carried him across the finish line. After the race we watched the town parade. Stupid rain ruined the rest of the day so we took the kids to McDonalds for dinner to make up for not attending the wet carnival. That seemed to make up for it. Until Jack peed his pants! First public accident, at least he didn't do it up in one of the tunnels! Overall a very fun weekend.

Yummy pancakes

They tried so hard to pick up the dirt.

Riding the horse.

Really you have to have arms as long as Ryans to effectively play with this toy. Its just there to make kids frustrated and get lazy parents off the bench to help/play with their kids. I hate those kinds of toys.

The starting line. Jack didn't want me to take his picture.

Kaitlynn stretching for the race.

I can't believe I got a picture of her not tipping over. This is a really hard stretch for the uncoordinated.

She is psyched and ready to run.

This is how Jack chose to get ready for the race. Sit and wait.

And we are off! Thats me in the yellow shirt holding Jacks hand. I don't think racing is his thing
But it is certainly hers. We stole this off of the Riverside website.

Finished!
We eventually finished too.
Kaitlynn made sure he got his medal too.

She was so proud of her medal. It was the coolest!
It was a pretty cool race, most of it went along side the river.

She just sat and watched with little interest.

Getting ready for the parade.

Checking out a bug.

I hope her picture turned out better than mine.

Because this is what they looked like when I tried.

From this angle her legs are ridiculously huge. Oh well they are anyway.

Such a pretty smile.

I love these flip flops from my Aunt Nancy, and they even stay on!

Exciting parade.

They actually ended the parade with fire trucks. Weird. Just didn't seem right to me. Isn't that how you are supposed to start out the parade?

It was only ten but the humidity made it feel much hotter and later in the day. Good thing one of the candidates gave out cold otter pops. He's got my vote. Now if only I could remember his name...

Even Elmo came to the parade!

And here are some more pictures we took from the website.
